Lincoln Christ’s Hospital School’s teaching awards

Lincoln Christ’s Hospital School, a large comprehensive in the city, believes in rewarding its staff and student community.

In this year’s Teacher Awards scheme, thirteen LCHS staff have been nominated so far.  The school also has a strong student voice.

Before Christmas, Year 11 students were offered the chance to initiate their own teachers’ award scheme by nominating any member of staff, from cleaners to the Headteacher, for an award.

Every member of staff who received a nomination received a certificate and some chocolates. Almost every student voted anonymously and wrote some lovely comments on the nomination forms.

  • ‘He was new this year and has settled into LCHS really well.’
  • ‘She is new and has really sussed it now and is always smiling and happy.’
  • ‘Just an epic, awesome person.’
  • ‘I enjoy her lessons so much I look forward to them all week.’
  • ‘No matter what I know she’ll never give up on me.’
  • ‘I couldn’t have made it through in Maths without her help.’
  • ‘They work really hard to make the school look nice.’

It seems that students value staff who are happy, approachable, friendly and smiling.
